I'm a storytelling photographer, so I strive to capture your real life, the connections between family members and the occasional chaos.
Mini stories are perfect if you are not sure about documentary family photography and would just like to get a taste of it. I can come to your home or meet at a mutually agreed upon location, which can be your favourite spot in the city or somewhere in your neighbourhood. Anywhere that is special to you and your family. The basics are the same as with Day-in-the-life sessions, except we will have less time, which is why I recommend picking two or three activities that you and your family enjoy doing together, so we make the most of my time with you! It doesn't need to be anything fancy, playing cards, baking cookies, or even doing the groceries will do. Your session should be about what you enjoy doing together as a family, but if you want to, I can give you ideas.
I often get asked about what to wear: you and your family can wear anything that makes you feel nice, gorgeous and comfortable. Just be yourself! If you insist, I would suggest no logos or characters, and of course no matching clothes, unless it’s what you usually wear. Just dress like you normally would. I won't make you pose and you won't have to smile for me, I'll just document the story of your family while you enjoy your time together. Even dads will enjoy it!
As a documentary photographer, I will adapt to whatever you have in mind: breakfast time, a trip to the zoo, a cozy afternoon at home... If you need a more traditional photo for Grandma, we can take some posed portraits at the beginning (or at the end) of the session and then we'll move on to real life.
